For the 2011/12 season RPHC has introduced a flat rate membership payment which combines the subscriptions (subs) and match fees into single payment and is designed to reduce the administrative burden for both members as well as the club Treasurer and captains. Details of the proposed flat rate are given below. We have also included a variable rate option so as to not discourage infrequent players, but are encouraging the majority of members to pay the flat rate.

Flat rate (FR) / Variable rate (VR)
Full membership £260 per season (FR) or £100 subs + £10/match (VR)
Student/unemployed membership £130 per season (FR) or £50 subs + £5/match (VR)
Colts (if not playing senior hockey) n/a (FR) or  £50 subs + £3/match (VR)
Social (if not playing hockey) £15 per season
* Includes subs and match fees (with the exception of summer/mixed/cup games which are cost £5 per match for all members)

The No Pay - No Play policy will be enforced this year for players who have not paid their flat fee/subscriptions by 31 October.

Paid membership is needed to ensure that the player is a registered member of the Club and is covered by the Club's insurance policy and also so that the ever increasing hockey fees e.g. affiliation, astro hire etc can be met.

FAQ

What happens if I get injured or can no longer play for another reason?
We have a refund policy whereby any member who has paid the flat rate (ie £260 or £130) will be eligible for a refund of the difference between the flat rate and variable rate if they play less than 10 games (eg if you paid £260, but only played 6 games you would be eligible for a £100 refund)

What happens if I can't afford to pay?
We are happy for members to split the payment into two half season payments in September and December. Additionally, as previously, members are free to discuss their individual financial position with the Treasurer directly to decide on a payment level which is fair to the member and the club.

Is this a stealth increase in subs?
The RPHC Executive Committee are very proud of the low level of our membership cost and wish to keep the cost to the minimal possible. We have increase the match fee payment under the variable rate to encourage members to adopt the flat rate, which we think will save most members money and significantly reduce admin. The level of membership will continue to be reviewed annually with the aim of ensuring that the club meets costs.
